Pekudei

The Hebrew Words

Pekudei is a conjugation of the root word פָּקַד [paqad- Strong's #6485] that means "to attend to", "visit", "muster", or "appoint".  Pekudim is used once in the whole of the Tanakh.

First Use in Scripture

The first time paqad is used in Scripture is in Genesis 21:

Then the Lord took note of Sarah as He had said, and the Lord did for Sarah as He had promised. (Genesis 21:1)

Last Use in Scripture

The last time paqad is used in Scripture is in Zechariah 11:

For behold, I am going to raise up a shepherd in the land who will not care for the perishing, seek the scattered, heal the broken, or sustain the one standing, but will devour the flesh of the fat sheep and tear off their hoofs. (Zechariah 11:16)
