1685-  The Jews of New York Colony were denied the right to worship publicly.

1827- Russia decreed the draft of Jewish boys from the age of 12; these youngsters were subsequently known as the"Cantonists." During this horrible period, thousands of young boys were snatched away from the Jewish people and forever lost to us.

September 8, 1930- At the beginning of the New York City school year, Hebrew was introduced as a subject in some New York City public schools.

September 17, 1978-  The Begin-Sadat-Carter Camp David talks concluded.
