1476 BCE-  Moses delayed coming down from the mountain of Sinai. The people demanded that Aaron make them a god who would lead them out of the wilderness.  Aaron made the golden calf.

July 21, 1239-  Pope Gregory IX ordered the confiscation of all manuscripts of the Talmud.

July 11, 1740- Jews were expelled from Little Russia.

July 11,1941- All of the Jews who survived the murders in Kaunas, Lithuania, were sent to the newly erected Slobodka ghetto. The Jews organized an underground with 800 members, many of whom escaped to the forests of Augustova.
