c 164 BCE- Following the victory of the Maccabees, the Jews removed stones set up in the Beit Hamikdash by gentiles during the rule of the Greeks. In Talmudic times, this day was celebrated as a holiday.

 

November 17, 1938- The Italian version of the Nuremberg Laws was published.

 

November 5, 1939- 1800 Jews from Sierpc, Poland, were marched to Warsaw. The remaining Jews were confined in a ghetto.

 

October 29, 1964- Karmiel was founded in the Galilee in an effort to populate northern Israel.
