The Hebrew Word
וַיֵּלֶךְ [vayelech] is a conjugation of the verb יָלַךְ [yalakh- Strong's #3212] that means to "go", "walk", or "depart". It is related to the Hebrew verb הָלַךְ [halak - Strong's #1980], a primitive root that means "to walk". The Tanakh uses yalakh 1044 times in 936 verses.
First use in Scripture

The LORD God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, Cursed are you more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field; On your belly you will go, And dust you will eat All the days of your life; (Genesis 3:14)
Last use in Scripture
The last time yalakh is used in Scripture is in Zechariah 8:
“Thus says the LORD of hosts, ‘In those days ten men from all the nations will grasp the garment of a Jew, saying, “Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.”’” (Zechariah 8:23)
